112. Purple Finch

We've got a new king of the mountain for the biggest rarity of the year so far! This female/first-year PURPLE FINCH showed up at our feeders following a big snowstorm that moved through Sunday. We have been watching the feeders daily this winter hoping for a vagrant winter finch from the north/east--and this lovely bird showed up to take the prize!
